How to Play

Four Word Grid requires you to build a perfect "word square." This is a special grid of letters where the words formed in the rows are identical to the words formed in the columns.

The Rules

  • You are presented with an scrambled 4x4 grid.
  • Your goal is to fill the grid so that Word 1 across is the same as Word 1 down, Word 2 across is Word 2 down, etc.
  • Rearrange the available letters to arrive at the correct combination. Use colors as hints. Greens are correct, Yellows move within the same row, Greys move to a different row. Once you've mastered the game, switch on hard mode for extra challenge and remove all the colors
  • Every row and column must be a valid English word.

Example

A simple 4x4 word square might look like this:

L O V E
O V E N
V E N D
E N D S

Notice how the first row (L-O-V-E) is identical to the first column (L-O-V-E) and same with subsequent rows and columns.

Tips for Success

Start with the row that has maximum colored letters. Identify common four-letter word patterns, and if you figure out the first row, remember that you immediately know the first column as well!

When you are done with the daily four word grid, you can also attempt the weekly five word grid which is the next level

Below is a sample grid for you to try here before you go to the daily puzzle, You can drag and drop all letters except greens
